Unlock A Nokia 6151

Free yourself from the network block.

The Nokia 6151 is a 3G phone with a simple, recognizable design and a 1.3 megapixel camera. The phone can play MP3s and pick up FM radio, but overall, it's a standard Nokia handset. Most new phones come equipped with a network block, which prevents you from entering a SIM card from any other provider besides the one you originally purchased the phone through. To remove this restriction, you have to obtain your unblock code.

Instructions

Unlocking the Nokia 6151 Through Your Service Provider

1. Press "*#06#" on your handset. This will bring up your phone's IMEI or serial number. This is a unique number that identifies your handset and is needed if you intend to unblock your 6151. It is best to copy this down because you will need to refer to it later.

2. Phone your network. Even though many people assume unlocking phones is illegal, this actually isn't the case. You are entitled to change networks, but the networks set the blocks to make it more difficult for you to change. However, because you are allowed to, networks are supposed to provide you with your unlock code if you request it. There is often a charge for this, and it is sometimes specified that you cannot get the code if you've only recently bought the phone.

3. Quote the company your IMEI number. It will use this and details of the make and model of your phone to generate the code. Unfortunately, most networks don't do this quickly, and you may have to wait to receive the code.

4. Type the unlock code into your phone. After this is done, a message will display, stating "Network Block Removed."

Unlocking Your Nokia 6151 Using an Unblocking Website

5. Get your phone's IMEI number. This can also be found underneath your phone's battery, printed on the label. The number is 15 digits long.

6. Search online for "Nokia 6151 Unlock Code." This will bring up several websites that offer mobile phone unlocking and that have the 6151 listed. These websites do charge, but they have a quicker response time than your network is likely to, and most are relatively cheap. Browse through the websites until you find one you like, and bring up the home page.

7. Select "Nokia" and "6151," then type your IMEI number into the space provided. Each website varies, but most will email your unlock code within a week.

8. Enter your code into your 6151. You will see a confirmation message, and then you can enter a SIM from any network.
