Unlock your Nokia 3120C so that you can use it with SIM cards from around the world.
The Nokia 3120C is a quad-band phone released in April 2008. It features a VGA video camera, Bluetooth 2.0 and an internal memory of 24 MB. If you purchased your Nokia 3120C from a cell phone service provider, then it likely came locked to that carrier. This means that you will not be able to use it with SIM cards from other networks, unless you get it unlocked.
Instructions
1. Turn on the Nokia 3120C mobile phone. Type *#06# on its keypad. The IMEI code of the phone will be shown on the display.
2. Select an online store where you can purchase an unlock code. You may consider visiting Unlockme, GSMLiberty or UnlockToTalk. As of December 2010, a single code costs about $20.
3. Purchase an unlocking code for the Nokia 3120C mobile phone. The IMEI code is needed to generate an unlock code for the Nokia 3120C.
4. Purchase a new SIM card. Make sure that it comes from another network. As of December 2010, you can purchase one for about $20 from a mobile phone store or convenience store.
5. Turn off the Nokia 3120C and remove the SIM card inside. This is located beneath the battery.
6. Put in the new SIM card on the card slot and put back the battery. Power on the Nokia 3120C. Type the unlock code when you see a message telling you to enter a code. Wait for the Nokia 3120C to restart. When it comes back on, it will be unlocked.
