Featuring phones from major manufacturers such as Nokia, the Tracfone prepaid cellular phone service offers consumers fully functioning cell phone service without long-term contracts. When a Tracfone experiences antenna problems, the phone's owner may wish to remove and replace the antenna himself. If the phone in question is a Nokia 1100, however, the entire circuit board must be removed and replaced since that particular phone model features an integrated antenna.
Instructions
1. Turn off the Nokia 1100 and remove the phone's back cover, battery and SIM card.
2. Remove the front cover of the phone, prying it loose at the bottom and then lifting it off of the phone body. Set the front cover aside.
3. Remove the six screws on the body of the phone using your Torx T6 screwdriver. Two of the screws are located in the top corners of the phone body, two are in the bottom corners and two are just below the LCD screen on the phone body.
4. Remove the LCD screen and frame cover from the phone body by lifting them off of the body to reveal the circuit board underneath.
5. Lift the circuit board out of the phone body and off of the heat shield that separates it from the battery compartment. Once removed, a new circuit board with an integrated antenna can be installed to replace the existing board with a defective antenna.
