Use A Bluetooth Device

Bluetooth is a wireless technology that allows devices to communicate with each other while in close proximity. Common examples of Bluetooth include cell phones, wireless headsets, wireless keyboards and mice, and wireless networks. Because it uses high-frequency radio technology that consumes very little power, Bluetooth is perfect for portable use.

Instructions

1. Install software if required. If your Bluetooth device comes with an installation disk or CD, install it now. Some devices will not function properly without the proper software or drivers.

2. Turn your devices on and enable Bluetooth by entering your device's network settings. Turn Bluetooth on or enable pairing mode. When your devices are successfully in pairing mode, they will begin to search for other Bluetooth signals in the area.

3. Configure the device. Enter the password if prompted (use "0000" or consult the manual for the default password). Because of the sheer number of Bluetooth devices available, some devices configure automatically (like a wireless headset) while some need additional settings.

4. Test your Bluetooth devices. To ensure you can send and receive data between devices, simply use them as you normally would. If you've installed a device that requires software, run the software and see if it works.
