Maps To The Garmin Xt Mobile

Adding maps to a Garmin XT phone requires purchasing them from Garmin.

The Garmin XT Mobile is a portable GPS device with a built-in phone. Like Garmin's other devices, the XT comes with some maps preloaded, but additional maps must be purchased from the Garmin online store. Adding new maps requires users to register their phones with Garmin and install them using an external SD memory card.

Instructions

1. Visit Garmin's website and select "Maps." On the site select your device model, and then choose the continent and type of map (driving, trail, city) you want to purchase.

2. Insert an SD card in the Garmin XT and connect the phone to your computer using its USB cable. If you are using a PC, ensure that ActiveSync is enabled.

3. Purchase the map and select the download link on the Web page. Select "Save" to save the map to the phone. Once the map has downloaded to the phone, disconnect the phone from the computer.

4. Press "Menu" on your phone. Select the "Tools" option, and then select "Manage My Data." Select "Map Sets" to open and load your purchased maps.
