Can The Communicator Be Used As A Computer

The Nokia E90 and other models in the Communicator series offer highly sophisticated cellular phone and PDA (Personal Data Assistant) features. However, Communicator users may dispute whether it can actually be used as a computer or not.

Computer-Like Features

Nokia's specifications indicate that the Communicator E90 can read PDFs (Portable Document Format), send/receive email, browse the web, play MP3 music files and take digital photographs. Many people use a computer for some or all of the same purposes.

Email Attachments

The Nokia Communicator E90 also has "Quickoffice" software that enables you to read and edit email attachments. This capability extends its computer-like functionality beyond that of many cell phones and electronic organizers.

Considerations

Basically, the ability to use a Communicator as a computer depends upon how you would normally utilize a computer. If you only browse the web occasionally and use email, it might prove adequate. However, you wouldn't want to write a book or create websites on it.
