Most mobile service providers sell phones locked to their network. To use your Verizon LG phone on Sprint's network, you need to unlock the device. Unlocking the device consists of disabling the network lock on your phone by entering an unlock code. Once the code is accepted, you will be free to activate the device on Sprint's network.
Instructions
1. Contact Verizon Wireless customer service at 800-922-0204. Ask the representative if she can provide your LG phone unlock code and the sequence code. If she cannot provide you with the codes, you will need to obtain the codes from an online cell phone unlocking company for a small fee.
2. Insert the Verizon SIM card into the SIM card slot located inside your LG phone and power on the device.
3. Type the sequence code for your LG device using the keypad on your phone. For example, "2945#*40#" pulls up the unlock menu for the LG Chocolate phone.
4. Wait for the menu to populate. Select "Settings," and then press the "OK" key.
5. Select "Security" followed by "SIM Lock," and then press "OK."
6. Type the unlock code in the appropriate field and press "OK." Wait for the phone to restart.
7. Contact Sprint's customer service department at 888-211-4727, and follow the prompts to speak with a representative.
8. Inform the representative you would like to establish an account and activate an unlocked LG phone.
9. Provide the representative with your name, billing address and Social Security number. In addition, you may need to authorize the representative to perform to credit check and set up a payment method to pay for any fees associated with establishing an account.
10. Select a plan for your LG phone, and follow the instructions provided by the representative to activate your device.
