If you've erased information from your handset, you can recover it from your SIM.
If you have deleted information from your Nokia handset and cannot retrieve it from your handset, you may be able to retrieve it using a SIM card reader. These readers have been used to help solve police crimes and to assist private investigators.
Instructions
Recover Installation
1. Install the software that came with your USB recovery SIM reader. Depending on the manufacturer, some USB SIM card readers do not require software installation. If you've purchased one of these, once you plug it into your computer, the device is recognized immediately.
2. Plug the SIM card reader into the USB Port. Depending on the type of USB SIM card reader you purchased, you can either plug it directly into the USB port or you will have to connect it to a USB cord before plugging it in.
3. Wait for the box to pop up in the bottom right corner of your toolbar. This box should display a message saying "Installing Device." Once the device has been installed, it will say "Installation Completed." At this point you can unplug the SIM card reader.
Recover Files
4. Remove the back cover and the battery from your handset.
5. Remove the Subscriber Identity Module card (SIM) from the back of your phone. The SIM card is a small data chip that holds valuable details about your account in your handset. This card should be sitting in a silver cradle.
6. Insert the SIM card into the SIM card reader. Review the instructions on insert it per the user's manual. Instructions differ based on the manufacturer for the direction in which to insert the card.
7. Wait for the program to auto run. If the program does not run automatically, go to the Start menu and select the name of your SIM card reader from the drivers list in the "My Computer" folder.
8. Open the program and select the file you want to view.
