Bluetooth wireless technology is a great way to quickly and securely connect two devices together without the use of lengthy (and often expensive) cables. Normally Bluetooth is used to connect a mobile phone to a device like a hands free headset, but a little known fact is that it can also be used to connect a mobile phone to a personal computer. Once connected you can quickly send files from one device to another.
Instructions
1. Navigate to your computer's Control Panel by selecting the "Start Menu" and clicking on "Control Panel." Note that if you are using Windows XP or an earlier version of Windows, you'll have to first click on the "Settings" sub-menu and then select the "Control Panel" option.
2. Double click on the icon labeled "Bluetooth" in the Control Panel to launch your computer's Bluetooth settings utility.
3. Make sure your computer's Bluetooth "Discovery Mode" is set to "ON." This will allow other Bluetooth compatible devices to access your computer.
4. Turn on Bluetooth on your cellphone. On most models of phone this involves going to your phone's "Settings" menu, selecting the "Bluetooth" option, and clicking either "Discovery" or "Add Devices." When your phone searches for a list of Bluetooth devices in the area, it will display your computer. Select this listing to connect your phone to your computer. Confirm the connection on your computer.
5. Right click on the tiny Bluetooth icon that now resides on your computer's System Tray in the lower right corner of the screen and select the "Send a File" option. This will allow you to search for a file on your hard drive that you'd like to transfer to your mobile phone.
