Connect Soundstation To Skype

The Soundstation can improve your meetings.

Polycom Soundstation is two-way call conference device. It allows for group conversations via a multi-speaker device that can easily be placed on any meeting table. It acts as both a microphone and a speaker. Unlike older conferencing utilities, this tool also allows users to talk at the same time rather than wait for another speaker to stop. Older models often had interference during this action.

When paired with Skype, this can create a very clear, multi-person video and voice conference. Using Soundstation, the listeners can receive a superior sound over the typical computer speakers that are normally used with Skype.

Instructions

1. Attach one end of a USB cord to a computer connected to the Internet. Attach the other end of the USB cord to the USB port of the B2K RJ11 Skype adapter.

2. Attach the B2K RJ11 Skype Adapter to a wall phone jack/plug using a telephone cord. One end will go to the wall and the other to the phone port of the Skype adapter.

3. Use the remaining telephone cord to connect the Skype adapter to the phone. One end will go to the phone while the other end will go to the remaining phone port of the Skype adapter.

4. Download the Polycom Soundstation drivers (link below if CD not supplied with product) and follow the installation steps.

5. Start Skype. Do this by clicking on the Skype icon or by going to the "Start" menu, selecting "All Programs" and then "Skype." Soundstation will act as both a microphone and a speaker when talking and listening to Skype users.
