Fix problems with your headset simply and effectively.
The Logitech brand of computer peripherals includes a fairly extensive line of computer headsets that can be used for chatting online, communicating in video games or participating in VOIP-based phone calls. However, if your Logitech headset is not responding, is producing poor sound or is non-functional, you won't be able to enjoy any of these features. Fortunately, there are some easy fixes for most problems with your Logitech headset.
Instructions
1. Check your connections. Make sure the USB plug is firmly connected into a port that is part of your computer console (not a hub) and that the cord is not overly tangled.
2. Toggle volume/mute buttons. Although the button features and layout will vary from headset to headset, most Logitech headsets have functions with volume and mute. Try turning the volume up and pressing the mute button a few times to make sure the mute function is not enabled.
3. Make sure your current headset it set as the default. If there is another input/output audio device installed, such as headphones or a peripheral microphone, part of the sound scheme may be going to that device instead of your headset. To make your headset the default device, go to the "Control Panel," and then select "Hardware and Sound" from the menu. Select "Manage Audio Devices" and then set your headset as the default under the "Playback" as well as the "Recording" tab.
4. Check system requirements. Some of the most recent Logitech headphones require certain operating systems and memory availability to work. Consult your owner's manual for more on system requirements for your headset.
