Microsoft's Xbox is a popular video game console with a loyal following of gaming enthusiasts. Many Xbox owners alter the internal components of the Xbox in an effort to improve its game-playing abilities. Taking off the Xbox cover is the first step in being able to modify the gaming console's internal components. You only need a few tools and a couple of minutes to remove the cover, but be aware that by doing so, you void the Microsoft warranty.
Instructions
1. Disconnect all of the cables from the Xbox. Put the bath towel down on a table. Place the Xbox face down on the bath towel.
2. Insert the tip of the utility knife beneath one of the four rubber feet on the bottom of the Xbox and pull off the rubber foot. Repeat this with the other three rubber feet.
3. Remove the screws from beneath the rubber feet using the Torx screwdriver.
4. Scratch off the warranty sticker and the Microsoft sticker that are on the bottom of the Xbox using the utility knife.
5. Remove the screw from beneath the warranty sticker and the Microsoft sticker using the Torx screwdriver.
6. Turn the Xbox back over. Orient the Xbox so that the power button is facing you.
7. Place your left hand against the left side of the Xbox. Place your right hand against the right side of the Xbox.
8. Lift the outer case up and away from you to remove the cover from the Xbox. Place the cover down on the bath towel.
