Make Skype Work On The Toshiba 2140xcds

Skype is a Voice over Internet Protocol client that lets you make phone calls over the Internet. The application is available for various operating systems, including Windows and Mac as well as hand-held platforms like Windows Mobile and Symbian. The Toshiba 2140Xcds operates on Windows 98, for which you have to download and install Skype 2.6 version. This version is not available on Skype's official website anymore; however, you can download it from any other website that offers such software applications.

Instructions

1. Open Internet Explorer and navigate to a website like OldVersion, Oldapps or BrotherSoft. On these websites, search for Skype 2.6 or find their direct links in the Resources section.

2. Run the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen instructions to set up the application on your computer.

3. Launch the application once it installs by going to "Start," "All Programs" and then "Skype."

4. Enter your Skype login name and password. If you don't have one, click the link "Don't have a Skype name?" Then provide the registration information and create the account.
