A USB cable is used to connect to Motorola Phone Tools.
Some cell phones force you to search through Internet programs and applications to add ring tones to your mobile device, but not so with the Motorola W175 Tracfone. This cell phone gives you the opportunity to make your own ring tones with Motorola's own Phone Tools program. This program is included with some wireless contracts or can be purchased from Motorola directly, and allows you to select any song from your computer library to create a ringer.
Instructions
1. Download and install Phone Tools onto your computer with the installation disk and by following the program's clickable prompts.
2. Connect your phone to the computer with the USB cable and the W175 will load Phone Tools onto the computer screen.
3. Click "Customize">"Melody Editor" on the home screen and use the drop-down menu on the following page to select a song file to make into a ring tone for your phone.
4. Click on the green check mark in the "Selection" window once you have trimmed the song using the arrows under the song simulator.
5. Click "Transfer to Phone" and select "OK" to transfer the file to your W175 device.
