Choose A Voip Phone

Business owners can benefit greatly from a VoIP phone system.

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a type of technology that allows users to make calls over the Internet, rather than over a phone line. This is useful for businesses because you can easily set up multiple phone lines with many different features, including conference calling and cheaper international and long distance calls. When choosing a VoIP service, pay close attention to the equipment that comes with the service, particularly the phone system.

Instructions

1. Set a budget for the purchase of your VoIP phone system. These systems can range in price from about $10,000 to $75,000 or more, depending on the service features needed. Less expensive systems are available having a smaller number of features and fewer than 16 phone lines.

2. Find out how many phone lines can be connected through the VoIP phone system. Some businesses need only a few phone lines, while others might require dozens, or at least the potential to add more as the business grows.

3. Check out the features available with the VoIP phone system. Voice mail for each phone line, for example, is a feature that many businesses desire. Features like call waiting, conference calls and the ability to add more lines might all be important to you.

4. Determine whether or not the VoIP phone system you are considering has been used previously. The VoIP equipment you choose should always be new, never used. The increased maintenance, upgrades and replacement costs will end up deflecting any savings in upfront costs.
