The Sony Ericsson W995 is a quad-band slider-style cell phone with dual-band 3G support. The phone comes with built-in Wi-Fi and GPS. The TFT display measures 2.6 inches and up to 262,144 colors with a resolution of 240 by 320 pixels. A 930 mAh lithium-ion battery provides 9.00 hours of talk time and 370 hours of standby time. Dimensions of the cell phone are 3.82 by 1.92 by 0.59 inches, and the weight is 3.99 oz. The phone has 118 megabytes of built-in memory and can support up to 16 gigabytes of external memory using Sony's proprietary Memory Stick Micro.

The phone has an 8.1-megapixel camera with an LED flash. Additional features include digital zoom up to 16x, auto focus, image stabilizers, video stabilizers, face and smile detection, and geotagging. Video capture is included, with a video calling feature that allows the user to not only listen, but also see the other caller.

The music player supports AAC, AAC+, WMA, WAV and MP3 formats. The video playback feature supports RealVideo 8, H.263, H.264, WMV, 3GPP and MPEG4 formats. An FM radio with RDS is also included, along with motion gaming, 3D games and media browser.

The Sony Ericsson W995 supports Bluetooth version 2.0, synchronization, USB, USB mass storage, PictBridge, Wayfinder Navigator, aGPS and is DLNA Certified. Wi-Fi 802.11b and 802.11g standards allow data speeds up to 54 megabits per second. Headphone connectors are also included. The Internet browser has special features that allow connection to RSS feeds and Access NetFront Browser.
Phone Book/Organizer
The phone book has a capacity to hold 1,000 entries and features multiple numbers per contact, picture ID, ringer ID and caller groups. The organizer feature includes alarms, notes, flight mode, calendar, calculator, to-do lists, timer and stopwatch.
Messaging
Messaging features in the Sony Ericsson W995 include ExchangeActiveSync, predictive text input, picture messaging, text messaging and templates that have preset text. Email protocols supported are IMAP, POP3 and SMTP.
