How Do You Lock A Camelot Keypad Deadbolt Without A Key

Standard deadbolts require a key to lock the door from the outside, but the Schlage Camelot Keypad Deadbolt isn't a standard deadbolt. While you have the option of locking the Camelet Keypad Deadbolt from the outside with a key, you're not required to do so. By pressing a button on the keypad and rotating the turning knob toward the door frame, you securely lock the door without a need for a key. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Close the door. Press the "Schlage" button on the keypad.

2. Grip the turning knob, and turn it toward the closest edge of the door frame. For example, if the lock is installed on the right side of your door, turn the knob to the right. You should feel the locking mechanism extend.

3. Attempt to open your door. If the door doesn't open, it is securely locked.
