TVs provide a larger screen than a laptop for presentations or movies.
Visual presentations are an effective way of conveying information. Presenters who prepare their display on a laptop must connect the laptop to a large monitor, such as a TV, to show the information to a larger audience. This can be done through an easily assembled cable connection.
Instructions
1. Turn off the computer and the TV. Place the laptop so the wire connections will reach and allow you to access the computer for the presentation.
2. Connect one end of the S-video cable to the S-video port on the laptop and the other to the S-video port on the back of the TV. If using an RCA jack cable, connect one end to the yellow RCA jack port on the laptop and the other end to the yellow RC jack port on the TV. Plug the single end of the single-to-double jack audio cable into the headphone port of the laptop and the red and white ports on the other end into the red and white RCA jack ports on the TV, next to the connected yellow cable.
3. Turn on the TV and the laptop. Set the TV to AV mode on the AV channel to which the laptop is connected. You will see the laptop display appear on the TV screen.
