The popularity of mobile games has prompted a number of developers to focus on the N95.
The Nokia N95 8GB is a smart phone designed to double as a personal media center, with music and video capabilities as well as games. Unlike many comparable smartphones, the Nokia is designed to accommodate many types and styles of games by using the Symbian OS to render rich and detailed graphics on a 16.7 million color screen displaying 240 x 320 pixels and by positioning keys ergonomically on the device to act as gaming control buttons.
3D, Action and Arcade Games
There are a number of games available in this category, from 3D Pool to first-person shooters and adventure/RPG games. The graphics capabilities of the N95 are fully utilized to create a variety of highly detailed games that appeal to a broad audience. Some notable 3D games include the adventure games "Dragon and Dracula 3D" and "Wrath of Achilles," while many overhead, isomorphic and side-scrolling action games like "Troll" and "MPoint" provide hours of classic console-styled playability. New arcade-styled games are modeled after classics such as Pong, Breakout or Asteroids and also feature new concepts and stories in classic arcade fashion.
Cards, Puzzles and Board Games
Blackjack, Poker and Solitaire join a lineup of other computer-based card games on the N95's screen. The N95 also reproduces a number of real-world board games in a virtual environment, including checkers, Sudoku and chess while offering unbranded versions of other commercial board games and a few new games as well, along with matching puzzles, memory games and quizzes.
Sports Games
The N95's selection of sports games includes standards like 3D Baseball, cricket and soccer, as well as winter sports, skydiving and bungee jumping. Other sports-related games are available as well, such as baseball trading card games, and other games allow the player to take part in such pastimes as cow-tipping and snowball fights.
