There are steps you can take to remove a virus from your mobile phone.
The latest in cell phone technology allows the devices to perform like pocket-sized computers. Yet the benefits of this technology are not fool proof. That is, your cell phone might be susceptible to the same viruses as your desktop computer. Fortunately, there are measures that you can take in order to get rid of your phone's virus. Mobile phones often contain personal information which should be protected and secured.
Instructions
1. Download an antivirus software for your cell phone which will scan and detect threatening files. If your phone has added media, such as a memory card, you'll want to download software that will scan that as well.
2. Restart your cell phone after you have performed the scan. Check that there are no remaining threatening files by allowing the antivirus software to perform the scan a second time.
3. Consult your cell phone's user manual to find out reset your phone to factory (default) settings. Keep in mind that this may wipe your device of any files in memory including contacts, messages, and pictures.
4. Contact your phone's manufacturer if the virus appears to affect your phone even after you reset its settings. Although the more common cell phone viruses have been deemed harmless, it is possible that the phone will need to be replaced.
