The Motorola i580 is a model of Integrated Digital Network (iDEN) cell phone, formerly available in the United States on the Sprint network. The phone includes a built-in SIM card and phone lock to protect your personal information should the phone be lost or stolen. To unlock the SIM card or phone, you need to enter the correct numeric code when prompted. A locked phone only allows outgoing emergency (911) calls. Incoming calls and messages are unaffected.
Instructions
Unlock Motorola i580 SIM Card
1. Open the phone and press the "Power" button. A "Enter SIM PIN Code" message appears if the SIM card is locked.
2. Carefully enter your SIM PIN code using the number keys. The default code is "0000." If you enter the wrong code five times, your SIM card is blocked. See Tips for more information.
3. Press "OK." The SIM card unlocks with the correct code.

4. Open the phone and press the "Power" button. A "Phone Locked" message appears if the phone is locked.
5. Enter your lock code using the number keys. Contact your cell service provider if you do not know your lock code.
6. Press "OK." The phone unlocks, allowing you to make calls and send text messages.
