Cell phones with retractable LCD screens, such as the Wizard, are convenient because they allow access to a horizontal keyboard. If you need to replace a damaged LCD screen and wish to complete the task yourself, proceed with caution, because there are many moving parts.
Instructions
1. Turn off your Wizard and turn the unit over. Slide the battery door off the rear of the unit and remove the battery.
2. Locate the rectangular panel on the top of the rear of the unit and insert your case opener tool in the gap where it meets the body of the phone. Work your way around the sides of the panel until it pops off.
3. Remove all screws from the sides and corners of the back panel of the phone and remove the back panel to expose the motherboard inside the housing.
4. Unplug the two orange cables that connect to the sides the board and remove the board from the housing. Located the metal plate that covers the LCD screen, which is visible in the housing.
5. Remove all screws from the back panel of the screen and remove the panel.
6. Remove the screen from the housing and replace with a new one. Reverse the steps for reassembly.
