Unlock A Telcel Nokia 2760

Telcel is a cellular service provider in Mexico that operates a Global Systems for Mobile Communication (GSM) cellular network. The Nokia 2760 is a basic, clamshell-style GSM cellular telephone that was originally released in May 2007. The phone features a color display, Bluetooth, messaging and a VGA digital camera. The Nokia 2760 is sold by Telcel. Normally, Telcel sells it with a carrier lock, which prevents you from using the phone with a non-Telcel Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card. You can, however, unlock the Nokia 2760 so that you can use it with a non-Telcel SIM card.

Instructions

1. Call Telcel and request the unlock code for your Nokia 2760. Telcel will generally provide you with the unlock code free of charge if you have an active account that is in good standing. Alternatively, you can purchase the unlock code from a company that sells unlock codes for cellular phones. Write down the unlock code.

2. Remove the Telcel SIM card from your Nokia 2760. Slide the back cover off the phone and take the battery out of the phone. The SIM card is located under the battery compartment. Remove the Telcel SIM and replace the phone's battery and back cover. Power on the Nokia 2760.

3. Type "#pw+CODE+1" using the keypad on your Nokia 2760. In this sequence, replace "CODE" with the unlock code you wrote down in Step 1. The Nokia 2760 will display the message "SIM Restriction Off." Your phone is now unlocked and you can successfully use it with a non-Telcel SIM card.
