Format A Picture Card To A Cell Phone

Picture cards are commonly referred to MicroSD memory cards when they are used with cell phones. These cards have been implemented for cell phone usage and give users the ability to transport pictures taken with the phone. Pictures can be sent to and from the cell phone--but before anything can be done, the card must be formatted for the cell phone for configuration purposes. Formatting is rather simple-- you can do it all through your computer. With minor configuration, your picture card can be formatted instantly.

Instructions

1. Insert the MicroSD (memory card) you want to format into the MicroSDHC's (card adapter) Micro or MMC slot. The technical name of the slot depends on the brand of the MicroSDHC you have.

2. Connect the MicroSDHC to the computer's ExpressCard USB port.

3. Access your system explorer and settings from the "Start" or Windows menu. The system explorer will be labeled as "Computer" or "My Computer," depending on the version of your operating system.

4. Right-click the removable storage tab folder with the MicroSD icon that will appear when the system explorer opens.

5. Select the "Format" action in the pop-up menu that appears. The MicroSD's Format window will open on your screen.

6. Check the box next to the "Quick Format" action, and click "Start" at the bottom of the window. The card will be formatted and ready for use once it is removed from the computer and put back into the phone's memory card slot.
