Unlock A Nokia 6288 Via Usb

Unlocking your Nokia 6288 will allow you to use it with a SIM card from other networks.

The Nokia 6288 is a slide-out phone that comes with a camera. If you purchased it with a plan, then it came locked to the network that you got it from. If you wish to use it with another service provider, then you will need to get it unlocked. There are a few ways to do this, the most common being the use of an unlock code. However, if you know how, you can also use a USB cable.

Instructions

1. Get an unlocking tool (see Resources). A free one that you can download is called "The Nokia Tool by Rollis 1.8." Once connected to your phone, it will show you the locks and enable you to open them.

2. Download the tool to your desktop. It doesn't need to be installed as it is a desktop-executable file and will run on its own.

3. Plug the USB cable that came with your Nokia 6288 into your phone and the other end into your computer. Turn your computer on and wait for it to recognize the phone. When prompted for the software drivers, insert the CD-ROM that came with your phone into the drive and select "Have Disk." Click "Next" and wait for the drivers to finish installing. Once complete, click "OK."

4. Click the Nokia unlocking software and wait until you get the "Found Phone" message. Click the "Read Phone Info" button at the top of the screen and it will show you four locks on the screen. If any of these are closed, then your phone is locked.

5. Press "Clear SP Locks." This button is located at the top of the screen. This unlocks the phone. You can now use your Nokia 6288 with a SIM card from any network. You can purchase a prepaid card from a convenience store or mobile phone store.
