Access the Internet on a computer with your Nokia 6681 cell phone.
The Nokia 6681 is a wireless cell phone used throughout the world, including Europe and India. Although the phone has a built-in camera, text-messaging support and a variety of other accessories, it can also be used as a modem for computers without a clear wireless connection. Although the Internet speed is far slower than a standard DSL or wireless connection, there are a few ways of speeding up the USB modem.
Instructions
1. Fully charge the Nokia 6681 before using it as a USB modem. Using the device as a method of connecting to the Internet drains the phone's battery, causing the phone to conserve power and reduce the Internet connection speed.
2. Download the latest Nokia 6681 driver to your computer using the link in Resources. This ensures your computer is up to date and allows for faster Internet connections.
3. Connect the USB data cable to a USB 2.0 port. This allows for faster data transfers and greatly increases the connection speed of the Internet.
4. Run only one Internet window or tab at a time. Browsing multiple sites with the phone modem slows down the Internet connection to a snail's pace because there is not a great deal of bandwidth available in the first place. If the connection is split into different sites, it slows down even further.
