Reset The Sharper Image 81 Remote

A Universal remote control can operate different devices by storing a separate code in its operating system for each device. Setting up or programming a universal remote, like the Sharper Image 8-1 remote, is best done from scratch, removing any codes already set up by default or intent. Resetting the Sharper Image 8-1 remote does not require any special tools and will not harm the remote in any way. The procedure requires making a simple adjustment to eliminate all of the codes from the remote's memory, as per the instructions found in the manual that comes with the remote or on the manufacturer's website.

Instructions

1. Hold the Sharper Image 8-1 remote in one hand, with the front facing away from you. Slide the battery compartment at the bottom of the remote off with your hands. Place the battery compartment aside.

2. Remove the two AA batteries from the battery compartment. Place the batteries aside.

3. Place the remote face down on a table. Wait 10 minutes for the built-in memory of the remote to lose all of its saved programming.

4. Pick up the Sharper Image 8-1 remote in one hand. Insert the two AA batteries into the battery compartment, lining up the "Positive" and "Negative" contacts on the batteries with the imprinted "+" and "-" text in the compartment, respectively. Side the battery compartment lid back on.
