Unlocking your Sony Ericsson P990i phone will allow you to put in the SIM card allowing you to access any network of phone providers. For instance, if you want to use the Sony Ericsson P990i phone on a Verizon network, following these instructions will allow you to do so.

1. First, you will need to contact either Sony Ericsson, your cell provider that the phone is currently connected to, or an online cell repair shop to request the codes to unlock your phone. (See resources for suggested links).
2. Once you receive your codes, you will need to connect your phone to your computer via the original cables.
3. Connect your phone to your computer.
4. The company you have been in touch with will send you (via email, or on-phone instructions) to a website where you will need to type in the serial number for your phone.
5. Follow the on-screen prompts and the software will automatically download the unlocking code to your phone, unlocking it for use on any network.
