Use A Psp As A Cell Phone

Gamers have been trying to create a hybrid PSP-cell phone since the PSP was released in 2005. Some have gone so far as to hollow out the system and build a cell phone in the casing, though this is obviously not a practical solution. When Sony released Skype on PSP, the PSP-cell phone was nearly realized; however, the PSP could only connect to Skype if it was connected to a WiFi network. Now, with the use of a portable WiFi hotspot, the PSP-cell phone is possible.

Instructions

1. Turn on your portable WiFi hotspot. It will connect to a 3G network and provide you with portable wireless Internet access.

2. Insert the Memory Stick Duo into the Memory Stick port in your PSP. Turn on the system.

3. Select the Skype icon under the Network heading of the XrossMediaBar. Press X to bring up the Skype main menu.

4. Sign in if you already have a Skype account. If you don't, select Create New Skype Account and fill in the information to create one.

5. Select your portable WiFi network in the Connection screen. The PSP will connect to the network and the Skype menu will appear.

6. If you're using a 2000 series PSP, connect your USB Microphone or PSP Headset. If you have a 3000 series PSP, use the system's internal microphone.

7. Select Dial from the Skype menu and enter a phone number with the on-screen keypad to make a call to a cell phone or land line. If you want to call a Skype contact, go to the Contacts section of the menu. The PSP will notify you when you receive a call from a Skype Contact. Press X to answer.
