Troubleshoot My Nokia 6500 Slide Problems

The Nokia 6500 is a cellular phone with a front screen that rises to reveal a keypad. This screen moves on a sliding mechanism attached to the back of the screen. If you have been having problems with the front screen, you can disassemble the unit and fix the slide.

Instructions

1. Turn off your 6500 and remove the battery door from the rear of the unit. Remove the battery and set it aside.

2. Remove the four screws from the corners of the battery compartment.

3. Slide the phone screen up to its open position and gently pry the the screen off the bottom body of the phone. Turn the screen over to reveal the metal sliding mechanism on the back of the screen.

4. Remove all screws from the sliding panel and refit the panel so the sides are flush with the sides of the screen. If the slider is damaged beyond repair, you can remove it completely and fit a new panel in its place.

5. Replace the screws on the panel and reverse the steps for reassembly.
