Removing the cover from your Env
The LG Env VX 9900 is a cellular flip phone with one unique design feature: a front cover that flips up to reveal an internal keypad designed for text-messaging. This is a convenient feature, but it can make things difficult if you want to customize your phone by removing the front cover in order to replace it with a new one. The good news is that even though this phone has a lot of moving parts, it's still possible to take off the front cover yourself, and without damaging the rest of the phone.
Instructions
1. Turn off your Env by pressing the PWR button on the front of your phone until it powers down. Then turn the phone over and slide the back battery cover down and off of the device. Lift the battery out of its compartment.
2. Use your Phillips screwdriver to remove the six screws (three on each side) located on the sides of the back of the device. Then flip your phone open and remove the four screws located on each corner of the internal LCD screen.
3. Close your phone and use your fingers to gently pry the cover off of the unit by the corners. Gently work your way around the phone until the front cover pops off, exposing the keypad underneath.
4. Use your fingers to lift the plastic keypad panel off of the front of the device. The cover on your Env has now been removed.
