Pair A Jawbone

Pair a Jawbone

While the Jawbone is a powerful Bluetooth device, it differs from other headsets in that its controls are actually hidden underneath the surface screen. Because of this, some users may think the set-up process for pairing the headset to their phone is more complicated than it actually is. By putting aside any hesitation caused by working with a new type of device, a consumer may easily pair up the Jawbone.

Instructions

1. Start with the Jawbone powered off. If it is currently on, it can be deactivated by holding down the "Talk" button for three seconds.

2. Activate Bluetooth on your cell phone. This is generally done by pressing "Menu," "Settings," "Bluetooth" and then selecting "On." Steps may vary from model to model, so consult your user manual as needed for alternative steps.

3. Place your Jawbone into pairing mode. To accomplish this, hold down the "Noise Shield" button for three seconds. The LED indicator light will flash alternately between white and red once the pairing mode has been engaged.

4. Scan for Bluetooth devices on your phone. This is generally done by pressing "Menu," "Settings," "Bluetooth" and then selecting "Scan for devices." The phone will search for nearby Bluetooth devices and show your Jawbone onscreen. Select it and, if prompted, enter "0000" as the passkey.

5. Confirm that your Jawbone is connected to your phone by placing a call. If the phone's audio is coming from your headset, then the pairing process was successful.
