Vodafone offers their customers network unlock codes if they purchased one of their phones and have a "pay-as-you-go" package or monthly subscription. A Vodafone network unlock code allows you to use another SIM card that is not a Vodafone on your Sony Ericsson. Vodafone has your unlock code in their system and they typically give you the code within 24 hours or they send you an email notifying you that your unlock code will generate in 48 hours so you can unlock a Sony Ericsson Vodafone.
Instructions
1. Visit the Vodafone website (see "Resources") to complete the request form for the unlock code.
2. Turn on your Sony Ericsson Vodafone and then type "*#06# on the keypad. You need your phone's IMEI number, a 15-digit identification number unique to your phone.
3. Hit "Submit" to complete the request from and then wait for the email notification from Vodafone in your in-box.
4. Type the Sony Ericsson unlock code on your phone's keypad. If you want to use a non-Vodafone SIM, insert it into the back of your phone.
