Undelete Phone Messages In Digital Memory

Recovery deleted files on your phone.

Cell phones run off of a small card called a SIM card. This device stores most of the user-specific files, such as SMS messages and contacts. Deleted messages or contacts are saved in the digital memory for a short period of time but are inaccessible through the phone. These files can be recovered by using special software.

Instructions

1. Install one of the many SIM recovery programs. These programs provide you with everything you need to read the SIM card from a standard USB device. A commonly used program is the Data Doctor.

2. Plug the SIM-to-USB converter into your computer and into your phone. Some phones have a USB slot on them, in which case you will only need to have a cable with two USB slots. Other phones have no way of connecting this cable, so you will need a SIM card dock to plug the SIM card into.

3. Open the SIM recovery program, select "Find SIM Data" and allow the program to run. After a few minutes, all current and any recently deleted messages, contacts, dialed numbers, CID and IMSI numbers will show up on your computer.

4. Highlight the files you wish to restore on your phone by clicking on each one. Then click on "Save Recorded Data to File."

5. Select either "Restore to SIM" or "Save to Computer." The first option will restore the deleted files back to their designated folder on your SIM card, while the second will save the files to a designated directory on your computer for use with emails and any computer-based address book you might have.

6. Wait for the program to come up with a message stating that the files were successfully saved before you disconnect the SIM card or the computer. Close the program down before disconnecting anything to ensure that your files do not become corrupt.
