Nokia Mobile Phones Explained

Cell Phone

Understanding a Nokia mobile phone is as simple as getting to know a few basic procedures. Nokia is a worldwide manufacturer of phones, PDAs, and handhelds. The phones they produce can perform functions that range from simplistic to very complex.

Cell Phone

Call Functions

Call functions are the basic set of actions that everyone should know when using a Nokia phone. To make a call on the phone, simply dial from the dial-pad and then press the green send key. To avoid dialing numbers every time, add the contact to the phone book to save time. To add contacts, enter the number from the dial-pad, then hit the menu key. Once an option appears, you can save the contact, and then add a name, details, etc. Once you start making calls, you will need to use call waiting. To do so, you will be presented with an option on the screen to switch calls or you can hit the green send key to switch between.

Battery Usage

Proper battery maintenance is important on every Nokia phone. The battery is what makes the phone run, provides power and can even affect the strength of your signal connection. Make sure you properly insert the battery when you take it out. There are metal contacts on the battery and the phone that must form a solid connection in order to provide the charge. It is also important to not let your battery drain too low, ideally below 25 percent. If you do, you may experience problems such as being unable to make or receive calls, no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection, and phone slowness.

Ringtones and Volume

The volume and ringtone settings on Nokia phones are important for the management of your phone. Being able to properly hear a call or making sure your ringer does not go off during a meeting is important. To change the volume of a call, you can simply press the volume buttons that are on the side of the phone. This will raise or lower the volume of the voice of the caller. When you want to switch between vibrating incoming calls and loud ringers, you can easily use the volume buttons again. When you are not on a call, press the buttons up or down to cycle between these ring styles. There are menu options to change ringtone and volume, but it is easier to use the volume buttons.

Security

There are a variety of security options that you can use for different levels of protection on your phone. You can lock the keys on the phone, lock your SIM card from other users and set up passwords on the phone. These options can all be set from the security menu on the phone. To get to the security menu, the most common path is to click menu, then settings, then phone or security. From this point you can turn on your key guard, set passwords to lock your phone or even your protect your SIM.

Voicemail

When that little tape icon appears in the top of the Nokia phone's screen, that indicates a new voicemail message. To get this message on your phone, it's as simple as pressing and holding the number 1 key on the phone. After you listen to the message, press the 7 key to delete the message or don't do anything to save it on the phone by hanging up.
