Unlock Blackberry Pearl For Verizon

To unlock a Blackberry Pearl 8200 series for Verizon first requires obtaining the phone's unlock code. In many instances, your current service provider can supply the code. However, many will only do so if you have at least 90 days of phone service and are in good standing. If your service provider can not provide an unlock code, it is possible to purchase a code online. Once your phone is unlocked, you can use it with almost any provider, including Verizon.

Instructions

1. Locate the phone's IMEI number. It is located on a white sticker under the phone's battery. Insert the SIM card from your current provider into the Blackberry Pearl.

2. Turn phone on. Disable the wireless option by selecting the "Options" image on the home screen, Click "Screen/Keyboard," switch the "LED Coverage Indicator" to the "On" position, push the "Menu" key, and press "Save."

3. Press "Options" from the home screen, and choose "Advanced Options." Navigate downward and choose "SIM Card."

4. Enter "MEPPD." You will not see this on the phone's screen. Hold the "Shift" key and enter "MEPP2." This will not appear on your screen either.

5. Type the unlock code, and push "Return/Enter." If your service provider did not provide you with an unlock code, purchase a code from Horizon Wireless, Worldwide Unlocking from Berry Review, or GSM PhoneSource.

6. Restart the Blackberry Pearl to complete the unlock process.
