Unlock A Nokia 2760

The Nokia 2760 was released in July 2008 on the T-Mobile network. T-Mobile and AT&T employ Global System for Mobile Communications technology, also known as GSM. These phones offer the convenience of using your phone both domestically in the United States and internationally by unlocking the devices, such as your Nokia 2760. You will need your 15-digit International Mobile Equipment Identity number (IMEI), and a valid unlock code, to free your phone. Once you have obtained these two main items, you can unlock your phone from home by following a set of instructions.

Instructions

1. Key in "*#06#" and record your IMEI number. The IMEI number transmits information to your carrier's network to determine whether you have permission to access the carrier's network database.

2. Speak with your carrier about an unlock code. You can obtain a SIM unlock code if you are a past or present customer with active service for 40 days. If your carrier cannot obtain an unlock code, or will not provide a code, you can purchase a code online from a unlock code vendor, such as Unlock it Now or GSM Liberty.

3. Remove the back cover from your Nokia 2760 and take out the battery. Remove the SIM card from the SIM card holder and replace battery and back cover.

4. Start your phone without the SIM card. Ignore any messages that appear on your phone as a result of the SIM card being removed.

5. Key in "#pw+CODE+1#" using the keypad on your phone. If your phone is locked to Canada's Fido or Rogers network, key in "#pw+CODE+7#." Your phone is unlocked when "SIM Restriction Off" flashes on your display. Substitute "Code" with the unlock code.
