Make Free Local Phone Calls Over The Internet

Make free local phone calls on your computer.


A new technology known as Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) allows you to tap into a telephone network using the Internet connection you already have at home or at work, making it easy to place phone calls using your computer. There are a few options, including websites and software downloads, you can choose from if you are interested in making free local phone calls over the Internet. Be sure your microphone is on when placing a call on your computer.


Instructions


Evaphone


1. Navigate to the Evaphone "Available Destinations" page and scroll down to your country and city to see the time limit on free calls.


2. Click "Main Page" and select the country you are in from the drop-down menu.


3. Type the local phone number using the screen keypad and click the "call" button.


iCall


4. Navigate to the iCall homepage and click "For the Desktop." This software requires broadband Internet and a headset. Click "Download iCall Now."


5. Click "Save file" in the new window, then click the iCall file in the downloads window. Plug your headset into your computer.


6. Open iCall. Click the "Keypad" button and enter the local number you wish to call, then click "Place Call."
