Install A Mirageos Onto Your Calculator

MirageOS is a flash application designed for Texas Instruments' TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus series of graphing calculators. Although its name implies that it is an operating system, MirageOS actually works as a shell to manage and execute Z80 Assembly and TI-Basic programs in tandem with the default TI operating system. With the ability to run a variety of flash programs, MirageOS is one of the most advanced and user-friendly applications available for the TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus.

Instructions

Installation Using TI-Connect

1. Connect your calculator to your computer with the TI-Graph Link cable. Run the TI-Connect application from your computer.

2. Right-click on the MirageOS.8xk file and select either "Send to TI Device" or "Send To: Connected TI Device: Archive," depending on the model of your calculator. Wait one minute for the transfer to finish.

3. Run MirageOS from your calculator to automatically install the AppVar program necessary for the shell to function. Close the TI-Connect application and unplug the TI-Graph Link cable from both devices.

Installation from Another TI-83 Plus or TI-84 Plus Calculator

4. Turn on both calculators. Connect the sending calculator to the receiving calculator using the calc-to-calc cable.

5. Open the LINK menu on each calculator. On the receiving calculator, select "Receive." On the sending calculator, select "2:All," then navigate to the bottom of the list and select "MirageOS APP."

6. Press the right arrow key on the sending calculator to bring up the Transmit menu. Press "Enter," and wait one minute for the transfer to finish.

7. Disconnect the calculators. Run MirageOS from the receiving calculator to automatically install the AppVar program.
