Get Registered In A Phone Book

With everything in the modern world turning digital, some people would still rather use a printed telephone book.

Most home telephones and land lines are automatically registered with the telephone book when the number is activated. However, cellular phone listings are not automatically listed. Additionally, not all telephone companies work the same way or have the same procedures, so it is possible that your telephone company may not have submitted or may not be required to submit your number to the local telephone directory company. Even if this is the case, you can still register your number in a telephone book.

Instructions

1. Call your telephone service provider. Ask the representative if your number is going to be listed in the telephone book. Telephone books are only printed once a year or every six months. If your number was activated in between printings, this could explain why you are not seeing yours in the book.

2. Locate the telephone number to customer service in the book. It will be placed on either the front page, or the back cover.

3. Call customer service and ask the representative why your number was not printed. Your service provider may not subscribe to this telephone book, in which case your number will need to be self-submitted. You may be charged a fee for this service.
