Utilizing raster graphics and ActionScript, Adobe Macromedia Flash Player is a proprietary media player and supports most streaming video on the Internet. Unfortunately for users of Windows Mobile 6 and 7, Microsoft and Adobe were unable to come to an agreement to make Flash available on new devices. Nevertheless, if you use Windows Mobile 5 or Pocket PC 2003, Flash support is available through a free download on Adobe's website.
Instructions
1. Connect your Windows Mobile device to your computer with its USB adapter and launch ActiveSync if it does not automatically start up.
2. Go online to Adobe's "Macromedia Flash Player 7 for Pocket PC" download page (see Resources) and click "Download Flash Player 7 for Pocket PC Installer." Save the file to your desktop.
3. Click "Explore Files" in ActiveSync. Click the CAB file downloaded to your desktop and drag it to the mobile device navigator window. When the file has finished copying, disconnect your mobile device from the computer.
4. Click "System Files" from the main menu of your mobile device and double-click the Adobe Flash CAB file. The file will automatically run the installation.
