Unlock your Nokia 1880 so you can use it with any network.
The Nokia 1880 is a dual-band phone introduced in 2010. If you purchased this phone with a plan, it may have come locked to a specific mobile carrier. This means it won't be usable on a different network. This can be inconvenient if you wish to use the phone while traveling. One solution is to unlock it.
Instructions
1. Search for a website that offers unlocking codes for the Nokia 1880 such as Unlockitnow.com. You can buy one code for about $15 to $25 as of 2010.
2. Get the IMEI code for the Nokia 1880. Dial *#06* and a code will then appear on your screen. Keep it to create your unlock code.
3. Order an unlocking code from the online store you have chosen. You will need to provide your IMEI code, an email address and your credit card information.
4. Access the code from your email.
5. Switch off the phone and remove its battery. Remove the SIM card as well.
6. Purchase a new SIM card. You can buy these from a convenience store for about $20. Make sure this SIM card belongs to another network and is not from your previous network.
7. Insert the SIM card into the Nokia 1880. Turn on the mobile phone, type the unlocking code you bought and press the "OK" button. Wait for the phone to turn off and turn on again. Once it restarts it will be unlocked.
