Download Nokia software
updates.
When using a Nokia cell phone you may find it necessary to update the software on the phone. This is done through a download on the Nokia website, however the Firewall on the computer often prevents these downloads from taking place. If you find yourself in this situation, you need to remove the Firewall from the computer (for the time being) in order to obtain the Nokia software download.
Instructions
1. Click "Start" followed by "Control Panel." Momentarily the Control Panel window opens onto the display screen.
2. Double-click the Firewall icon on the screen and a small Firewall display window appears.
3. Check the "Turn Off Firewall" option and click "Apply" to accept the changes.
4. Download the Nokia software update (found on the Nokia website under "Support"). Once you have finished updating the software you can turn the Firewall back on by bringing up the Firewall window and checking off the "Turn On Firewall" option.
