You can use multiple SIM cards in an unlocked cell phone
If you have a cell phone that you want to use multiple SIM cards in or if you want to avoid overseas roaming charges and tariffs, you may want to unlock your phone. Unlocking your phone will allow you to use any number of SIM cards from any cell phone service provider on your current phone. Purchasing an unlock code for your Nokia 2610B will give you the cell service freedom you did not have before.
Instructions
1. Hold your Nokia 2610B in your hand and press the sequence *#06# on the keypad. This will give you a serial number or IMEI number, which is your phone's unique identification number. You will want to write this number down, as you will need to provide it to the company that will give you your unlock code.
2. Go online and select an online company that provides cell phone unlock codes. Unfortunately there are no free cell phone unlocking services as of December 2010. You will have to purchase this service.
3. Call your selected company and provide them with the serial number or IMEI number for your specific Nokia 2610B. They will use this number in a special calculator that they have and will determine the unlock code that will work with your phone.
4. Punch the series of numbers that they provide you with into your phone. Follow any additional prompts that they give you. Your phone should now be unlocked.
